Can you do better than GTA & Madden?
Engagement
How do you keep your customers engaged with your brand? I would take a note from the videogame companies, especially if you’re focused on a younger demographic.  They have built complete brands online that keep people entertained, engaged, and up to date (read: excited) on the latest games.

For instance, Grand Theft Auto IV and Mario Kart have just been released but most people (and not just gamers) have been talking about them for months. Madden 2009 comes out in August and I’ve already received an email and watched a show telling me about all of the great things to come.

How can you take a page out of their playbook? Build a community online and make your Web site the center of it with useful information, not just product information.  Next, send customers timely emails that direct them back to your Web site where they can play a branded casual game (very sticky for those at work – not that I would know), send a friend a branded e-card, or join a discussion in progress.  These are just a few ideas that will keep your brand top of mind - if your site is fun or interesting enough, it will spread virally.
