ListManager 7.5 Delivers Email with Perfect Timing
New version of world's
best-selling email marketing software enables behavior-driven
campaigns
Berkeley, CA - 18 September 2003 - Lately, consumers
are so overwhelmed with email offers that even specifically
requested mailings can carry the electronic stench of
"spam." But a new feature in Lyris ListManager promises
to improve the aroma of email boxes everywhere with
opt-in email that is perfectly timed and relevant.
Lyris Technologies announced today the release of
ListManager
7.5, the latest edition of its email marketing software.
Version 7.5 extends the product's advanced marketing
capabilities to enable companies to launch automatic
opt-in email campaigns based on events, dates, and even
customer behavior.
For example, a company could automatically send an
opt-in email with a special offer when a list member's
web browsing activity indicates interest in a particular
product. Conversely, the company could automatically
omit a customer from an email promoting an event if
she has already purchased tickets even if her
purchase was within minutes of the mailing.
"The chances are much greater that you will welcome,
open and respond to an email offer if it happens to
arrive at the precise moment you happen to be interested,"
notes Lyris CEO John Buckman. "With ListManager 7.5,
we're empowering companies to reach the right person
with the right message at exactly the right time."
Building on Interest
and Purchase Tracking Capabilities
ListManager's new triggering capabilities are most
powerful when used in combination with the product's
unique Action Tag Technology™, first introduced
in version 7.0 (April 2003). Action Tag Technology enables
marketers to analyze not only traditional email metrics
such as delivery rates, opens and clickthroughs, but
also interest levels, email forwarding behavior, and
even online and offline purchases. Tying email triggers
to purchases, web browsing and other behaviors helps
fulfill the real promise of one-to-one marketing: the
mailer sends less email but realizes stronger response
or retention rates, while consumers get fewer emails
that interest them more.
"At
TheStreet.com,
timing and targeting are critical for us, since we're
sending market-sensitive data and have over a million
members," explains Earl Cokley, Chief Technology Officer
of TheStreet.com. "We've relied on ListManager for five
years now, because Lyris has been able to constantly
evolve the product to keep up with our needs."
With ListManager 7.5, Lyris aims to help customers
like TheStreet.com (Nasdaq: TSCM) send and track email
more strategically and ultimately help make email
inboxes everywhere a little more appealing.
Availability and Pricing
ListManager runs on Windows, Linux, and Solaris, and
is compatible with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and
PostgreSQL. The software interface is available in English,
Spanish, French, and German, and enables users to mail
in a virtually limitless number of languages. ListManager
can be licensed directly from Lyris, but is also available
as a hosted solution (Lyris ListHosting) for customers
who prefer to outsource their email campaigns.
Pricing ranges from $500 for the most basic ListManager
