DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)

Improve email campaign performance, build your online reputation and maintain trust with Internet Service Providers using DomainKeys Identified Mail. DKIM authentication technology has been added to Lyris ListManager as a standard feature, available at no extra cost.  Now you can benefit from email authentication advancements without engaging the support of your IT department.

Additional DKIM sub-features in ListManager 10.2 include:

• Multiple domain set-up authentication for each email campaign
• Easy generation and validation of configuration allows you to generate and confirm DKIM is set up properly within the ListManager interface
• Auto population of "From" domains used by previous mailings improves your efficiency and ensures you are authenticating the domains that you use in your email campaigns

What is DomainKeys?

By attaching a digital signature to outgoing email messages, DomainKeys tracks a message back to the sender's domain name and verifies that it's legitimate; it also confirms that no one has altered the message content.

How does it protect your sender reputation?

ISPs value DKIM in determining whether messages are valid, spam or forged messages that need to be discarded.  ISPs can exempt DKIM signed/authenticated messages from spoof detecting filters. This increases the speed of delivery of your email messages, providing easier access to recipient inboxes, which improves overall campaign performance.

  Let’s face it – some subscribers are more valuable than others. For example, getting a promotion out to your top-tier customers may have more bottom-line impact than sending a general newsletter to prospects that aren't yet ready to buy.
  
  Engagement matters, too. ISPs evaluate the IP addresses that you send mail from and use your historic open and click-through rates to determine whether or not you're a legitimate, permission-based marketer.
  
  Lyris ListManager 10.0 harnesses the power of "mailstreams" - the ability to send your campaign in parallel over multiple IP addresses - to protect your inbox delivery rates. Our unique MailStream Optimization feature gives you unprecedented control over how you mail to your most important subscribers, by letting you associate different subscriber segments to different mailstreams.
  • Give your most important subscribers a delivery advantage. Using a simple wizard, you can ensure that particular sites, lists and custom-demographic segments use a particular mailstream for mailing. Grouping your best subscribers on one IP helps keep your reputation score high and puts the odds in your favor that your most important messages will get through to the right people.

• Smart bounce processing weeds out invalid email addresses … and saves legitimate ones
  • Protect your sender reputation. One of the biggest red flags for ISPs is a sender that repeatedly sends to invalid email addresses. Lyris ListManager stops this cold by flagging and removing invalid email addresses from your list immediately.
  • Stop losing good addresses to "false positives." Sometimes good addresses bounce because someone's on an extended vacation or their mailbox remains full for too many days. Because ListManager 10.0 uses nine distinct bounce categories – compared to most email marketing solutions that only use 2-4 categories – we don't overzealously block good addresses because of content or other temporary issues.
• We automatically respond to changes in ISP "connection settings," so you don't have to
  Like lanes on a freeway, there are a certain number of available "connections" for receiving your mail at each ISP, and sometimes they shut down without warning. Competitors may require you to periodically apply "connection-setting updates" to keep your system fine-tuned, but not Lyris ListManager 10.0. We automatically monitor and respond to these changes to keep your mail flowing smoothly.
   
• Handle spam complaints automatically and learn what's triggering them
  When subscribers hit the "Report Spam" button from their email clients, this data goes directly to their ISPs. If you have signed up for various ISPs' feedback loops, Lyris ListManager 10.0 automatically processes the spam-complaint data you receive from the ISPs and promptly removes these subscribers from your lists. You can even view a report that shows which members and which mailings are generating spam complaints.

New in 9.3:

• ListManager is now integrated with ClickTracks web analytics: Now, customer who use ListManager for their email marketing and ClickTracks for their web analytics have access to integrated data from both applications. This means that these customers are able to track their subscribers behavior from the time a subscriber opens and clicks on links in an email to the subscriber’s behavior on the company’s website.
   
  As well, customers can create new user segments based on the results of this web analytics data and automatically populate the segments into list manager for subsequent email targeting.
   
• New reporting filters and consolidated reports menu. New filtering options allow for easier cross-list, cross-campaign, and date range reporting on key reports. 
• Improved Help System. New layout and search functionality provides quick access to information.
• Web server enhancements. Ongoing stability and performance improvements ensure that ListManager’s speed and reliability is always leading the industry.

New in 9.2:

• Template and Content Builder
  Lyris has developed two new toolsets for users who want to build their own templates. Our new, easy to use interface gives users the ability to:
  • Create templates from scratch (or upload pre-existing HTML)
  • Designate regions as editable or non-editable
  • Insert and edit content using our new WYSIWYG content editor
  • Insert images using a simple drag and drop process, and resize them from within the template tool
• Image Library
  When creating new emails or templates, users can easily view and upload their images from an image library. Within the library, images can be catalogued using custom folders and viewed as thumbnails or full size previews. A simple drag and drop interface is provided for adding images to content.
• New and Improved HTML Editor
  To enhance the new content and template tools, we have developed a new HTML editor. This robust and highly tested editor will be available as part of the primary template, content, and mailing creation screens, as well as launched as part of the template editing window.
• Enhanced Reporting
  The first in a series of reporting improvements Lyris has planned, with this release Lyris has redesigned two of the most critical reports: the Mailing Overview and the Dashboard. Both reports include additional, more comprehensive data that is more concisely and intuitively displayed, and a new, very modern graphics package.
  
  The new Mailing Overview report can now be accessed directly from the Home screen in addition to the existing menu link. This report also displays quick-links to other related reports, giving the user easy access to important data and results of their email campaigns. The enhanced Dashboard provides trend data and the ability to compare mailings within a site, list, or campaign. Each report also enables users to drill-down and view supporting data.
  
  In addition to these enhancements, we have also added additional filters to some of the more popular reports. The Tracking Summary, Delivery Table, and All Outgoing Mailings reports now have date range and mailing type filters that users can use to narrow their report selections.
• Support for Domain Keys
  Domain Keys, a leading email authentication system developed by Yahoo, are a mechanism for verifying the domain of an email sender and the integrity of the messages sent. It is a proven method for identifying and removing forged email from the inboxes of users. ListManager 9.2 now supports Domain Keys and allows administrators to configure their settings at a site or list level.
• Advanced Message Throttling
  Many ISPs are limiting the number of connections and mailings they accept from any one IP address. In order to help our customers most effectively send email to these domains, we have added a throttling control mechanism to ListManager. On a per destination basis, users will be able to set limits to the number of messages delivered per connection and the number of connections that should be made per hour.

New in 9.1:

• A-Z Indexing for large lists:
  On pages with long lists of entries (e.g. the comprehensive list of lists or list administrators, or when working with segments), an alphabetical index will be available at the top of the viewtable to assist in navigating the list of entries shown. By clicking on a letter, only list entries starting with that letter will display, helping users to more easily find the entry they're looking for. The new A-Z Indexing feature assists users in navigating within large lists by providing an alphabetical index which users may use to navigate to the list items that begin with the letter chosen.
• Map Report of Mailing:
  ListManager now offers a Map Report, showing geographically where your e-mails are being sent throughout the U.S. This feature, powered by Yahoo Maps, displays a map of the country and provides for each state statistics on how many emails were sent and how the recipients in that state responded to the mailing, based on open rates, clickthrough rates, and conversion rates. Requires "add member columns" capability.
• Enhanced API:
  Expanded Application Programming Interface (API) functions include a new “Quick Send” capability that makes it easy for users to send emails without going through the process of creating an entire campaign. This feature is just the first of many new features Lyris has planned as part of its program to expand the application’s foundation. 
• Survey Responses Matrix Report:
  Enhanced survey results capabilities provide more data in an exportable format.

New in 9.0

• New Engagement Index
  Our new Engagement Index comprehensively evaluates how effective your campaigns have been in retaining your audience. Use this Index to better measure the success of new content or revised segmentation. The data provided also gives a more accurate ROI and a more realistic way to compare results of mailings internally as well as against your competitors.
• New Reporting Dashboard
  This feature shows at a glance a list of your most recent mailings, resulting metric trends, the “health” of your membership (percent that opened your email, clickthrough percentage, how many new members, how many unsubscribes, etc.), which mailings generated the most purchases, and server and ISP performance.
• Advanced split-testing functionality
  ListManager now has improved split-testing capabilities, including randomly generated test segments, concurrent sending of test emails, comparative reporting, and an easy to use, wizard-driven functionality for creating and running your tests. 
• High-powered mail queue
  The process to detect duplicate addresses has been reengineered, resulting in processing speeds from two to ten times faster. We’ve also increased the efficiency of bounce processing and click tracking, dramatically boosting our overall sending speeds. With 9.0, clients can expect sending speeds up to 6 times faster.
• Redesigned navigation
  A new and expanded side navigation includes both top-level menus and subordinate pages, allowing you to move around the application faster.
