WorldatWork Implements Software from Lyris

Berkeley, CA - 7 January 2002 - Lyris Technologies, developer of email management software, announced today that WorldatWork has selected Lyris' new Oracle-based software for its email marketing campaigns. WorldatWork is a global, not-for-profit association of more than 26,000 compensation, benefits and human resources professionals.

"Our membership records are in an Oracle database, which has always been extremely reliable," said Jeff Pyne, UNIX Systems Administrator at WorldatWork. "But we've never had an efficient way of emailing subsets of the entire list, and then updating the database with results of each mailing." Previously, WorldatWork's targeted email campaigns required complicated and time-consuming synchronization of Crystal Reports, text files, and one-off email lists.

The solution was Lyris ListManager 5.0 for Oracle, which integrates a powerful list server with WorldatWork's Oracle database. The association uses ListManager for a weekly newsletter about Total Rewards issues, and for promoting its seminars, products and services. WorldatWork's marketing department can now specify demographics for each targeted mailing via ListManager's customizable interface, and then distribute the mailing to addresses stored in the Oracle database.

"ListManager for Oracle is fast, stable, and keeps our database updated automatically with each subscriber's changing information," commented Pyne. "We can now send mailings based on any field in the database, including members' preferences for certain topics."

In addition to compatibility with Oracle, ListManager offers conditional content features, automated subscription handling and bounce management, and its own mail engine for high-speed delivery. "We're excited to extend ListManager's long-standing benefits to the Oracle community," said John Buckman, Lyris CEO and founder. "Until now, email marketing systems for Oracle cost six figures, or more; ListManager now offers a cost-effective solution that's feature-rich and highly scalable."
