Lyris Releases MailEngine 2.0 Email Software

Major new version features bounce handling, DNS engine

Berkeley, CA - 28 January 2003 - Lyris Technologies announced today the release of MailEngine 2.0, the latest version of its high-performance email delivery software. MailEngine 2.0 adds a number of new bounce handling, subscription management, and database integration features.

"Fast email sending is important, but customers also require fast, intelligent handling of the resulting bounces and undeliverable messages," said Lyris CEO John Buckman. "MailEngine 2.0 automatically tracks all hard and soft bounces, allowing mail administrators to easily remove bad addresses, as well as to create completely customized bounce handling rules."

MailEngine 2.0 eases list management with new subscription request handling tools. The product's "failsafe subscribe" features ensure that MailEngine correctly interprets every single opt-in and opt-out request, regardless of its source. The product also facilitates database integration, giving mail administrators the option of recording all bounce and subscription information directly to a SQL database using ODBC.

Lyris MailEngine runs on Windows, Linux, and Solaris, and can send or relay 150,000+ messages per hour from a single machine, easily replacing 5 or more traditional, open-source mail servers. For more information about MailEngine, visit: http://www.lyris.com/products/mailengine/.
